چکیده
Yellowing disease has become one of the main threats to black pepper (Piper nigrum L.) production. This study was conducted isolate and characterize Fusarium species associated with yellowing based on morphological molecular characteristics, evaluate their pathogenicity pepper. Fungal isolates were recovered from symptomatic plants located in major growing areas Sarawak. Based a total 73 identified. Genomic DNA sequence analysis nuclear ribosomal internal transcribed spacer (ITS) translation elongation factor-1 alpha (EF-1α) had confirmed identity isolates. The four identified F. solani (90.4%), oxysporum (5.5%), concentricum (2.7%), mangiferae (1.4%). characterisation, grouped into two distinct morphotypes, morphotype I II. Phylogenetic shown high level intraspecific variation among clades formed found correspond grouping. Pathogenicity test showed that all are pathogenic incidence severity. provides new insights pepper, highlights genetic variability result calls for critical revision current strategies management, resistance breeding programs

Biological role of Piper nigrum L. (Black pepper): A review
Piper nigrum is famous as the spices king due to its pungent quality[1]. Piper nigrum (P.nigrum) L. is a member of family Piperaceae[2-4]. The genus piper has more than 1000 species but the most well known species are P.nigrum, P.longum and P.betle; 51 cultivars of p. nigrum have been reported from the tropical and subtropical regions of India [5]. P.nigrum fruits are also used to produce white...

Present study evaluated in vitro antioxidant activity and cytotoxicity of four important Piper species (P. nigrum L., P. chaba Hunter, P. longum L. and P. colubrinum Link.) and six black pepper varieties (Sreekara, Subhakara, IISR Malabar Excel, Panniyur-1, Panchami and IISR Thevam). It was performed with sequential extracts of the dried berries/fruits using n-hexane, chloroform, methanol and w...

A Gram positive, rod shaped potential strain selected from the pool of a bacterial isolates obtained from the Western ghat forest on the basis of zone of P-solubilization activity. Identification based on 16S rRNA gene sequence reveals that, the strain is of Bacillus species, which shares highest sequence similarity to Bacillus tequilensis NRRL B-41771 (99.5%). Strain NII-0943 was able to produ...

Bragantina and Cingapura are the main black pepper (Piper nigrum L.) cultivars and the Pará state is the largest producer in Brazil with about 90% of national production, representing the third largest production in the world. The infection of Fusarium solani f. sp. piperis, the causal agent of Fusarium disease in black pepper, was monitored on the cultivars Bragantina (susceptible) and Cingapu...
